theory time!

so as we all know... aside from foundations, my chem hasn't released new music in a LONG time. this is very sad HOWEVER i have some theories about the possibility of a new album.

theory one: it's so over

what it says on the tin. there's no more mcr, and after they're done with wwwy they'll be done PERMANENTLY. this is very sad to think about for obvious reasons which is why we have......

theory two: we're so back

maybe they're working on new music, but won't be releasing it until after wwwy. this is plausible for TWO main reasons:

• once you release music, it's pretty standard that there'll be a tour pretty soon after the fact, and for most fans who got wwwy tickets because they thought that would be their only chance to see mcr before they broke up (again T_T) it just wouldn't be fair to them.
• music takes time!!! like, a lot of time. they probably started working on mcr5 after the reunion tour ended about a year ago, and most of their albums were released two years apart WHICH MEANS that's about the length of time it takes them to write one.

theory three: ptv

adding on to the "we're so back" side of things, i have another theory.

everyone loves pierce the veil, right? (RIGHT???)

but aside from the ASTUTE quality of their music, their album progression mirrors that of my chem.

i mean, think about it. first album? conceptual and rough-around-the-edges. second album? REVENGE and also loveeee but turns out its really hard to be in love sometimes!! third album? awesome and also their most popular? also the one they BOTH happen to be playing IN ITS ENTIRETY at wwwy this year. fourth album? a little more lighthearted! because its hard being gloomy and doomy all the time. fifth album?

well that gets interesting because my chem only have four (if we disregard conwep) but ptv have five, and what's even more interesting is that their fifth album is a similar amount of heavy to foundations, indicating that IF MCR WERE TO RELEASE ANOTHER ALBUM, that's what it'd sound like.
